“We will do right by the house and block.”
“No doubt. It’s why I introduced you and have been hoping they’d accept your offer.”
If you’ve been following along here for a while then you know that Anslie, in partnership with Shawn Buehler at BFM Architects, transformed 4401 Burlington PL NW in AU Park earlier this year and successfully sold it over the summer (see the BurlingtonReno highlights on our profile).
They were quickly on the hunt for their next project when a neighbor of Anslie’s in Chevy Chase, DC reached out regarding a house on her block. The longtime owner was moving out and the house had fallen int0 serious disrepair.
The owner needed a quick and painless sale. The neighbor didn’t want the house to fall into the hands of a shoddy flipper who would erode the character of the block.
This is exactly where Anslie and Shawn specialize. They quickly make a fair cash offer to the owner and closed two weeks later. Then they proceeded to design a renovation and modest addition that will transform this center-hall colonial into a stunning 5 bedroom + office and 4.5 bath home sited on a prominent corner lot for the next generation of occupants.
The renovation will include a completely new third floor, brand new systems, new windows and exterior doors and a new roof. The expanded kitchen will feature custom cabinets, European appliances and quartzite counters. All four bathrooms plus a powder bath on the main floor will be brand new with beautiful finishes. The lower level will feature an incredibly functional mudroom with stroller/bike parking and ample storage.
