2018 is rapidly coming to a close, and Glover Park is a great place to ring in the new year!
Here are six things you should know about New Year’s Eve & Day in the neighborhood, whether you are looking to hit the town, or spend the night in:
- Support local neighborhood businesses: Plenty of neighborhood establishments have deals for New Year’s Eve;
- Not every place is open: If you are going to one of your standard spots – be sure to check ahead of time, restaurants like Old Europe are closed both New Year’s Eve and Day.
- Looking to stay in, but would still like to toast the new year? Don’t worry, even if celebrating slipped your mind, Pearson’s has extended New Year’s Eve hours until 10PM – so you’ll have plenty of time to grab that bottle of champagne or wine.
- Be mindful driving through the neighborhood: If you are the DD for the evening, or otherwise driving through the neighborhood, be extra alert. Plenty of our neighbors will celebrate at places on Wisconsin Ave., and then walk home to avoid cabs/Ubers. If they have had a few drinks, chances are they won’t just stick to the sidewalks – so please use caution!
- Don’t forget New Year’s Day: New Year’s Eve not your thing? There is plenty going on the next morning!
- Slate is offering a $20 two-course brunch. For an additional $15, add a wine paring or bottomless mimosas.
- Both Balance Gym and Washington Sports Clubs are open on New Year’s Day. Want to jump right into your resolution, work off the holidays, or stick with your workout? Balance opens at 5:30AM and WSC at 8:00AM.
- The 2019 spring real estate market will be in full swing very soon!
