The third activity in our 2019 Wellness Series is a self defense class, taking place at 202 Strong (Farragut North location). Everyone should know the basics of protecting themselves, just in case you end up in a scary situation. Learn what you can do, should you ever be the victim of an attack or assault.

The class will focus on preparing participants for the most common types of attacks. You will learn how to address and overcome various grabs and chokeholds. We will also work on the basics of striking to understand the various distances of a fight and which tools to use when. This will be a great introductory level course to give you a 101 on how to defend yourself. You are guaranteed to walk out having learned at least one technique that will increase your confidence moving forward.
The class will be led by Kal Al-qaneh. He is a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and an instructor in Krav Maga.
*Trigger warning: This class will involve being placed, albeit lightly, in various chokeholds and pins. If anyone has been a victim in the past and feels they may not be comfortable, please say so at the beginning so that we can take that into account.
