Whether you’ve made a New Year’s resolution to be healthier, or you’d just like a chance to be active and try new things – we’ve got a great lineup for you to choose from. Oh yeah, did we mention they are all FREE?

Self Defense Class
When? Saturday, February 8th, 1:00 PM -3:00 PM
Where? 5608 Broad Branch Rd NW, Washington, DC 20015
Everyone should know the basics of protecting themselves, just in case they end up in a scary situation. Learn what you you can do, should you ever be the victim of an attack or assault.
This class will focus on preparing participants for the most common types of attacks. You will learn how to address and overcome various grabs and choke holds. We will also work on the basics of striking to understand the various distances of a fight and which tools to use when. This will be a great introductory level course to give you a 101 on how to defend yourself. You are guaranteed to walk out having learned at least one technique that will increase your confidence moving forward.
The class will be led by Kal Al-qaneh, a co-worker of ours at McEnearney Associates. He is a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and an instructor in Krav Maga.
*Warning: This class will involve being placed, albeit lightly, in various choke holds and pins. If anyone has been a victim in the past and feels they may not be comfortable, please say so at the beginning so that we can take that into account.
Conditioning Boot Camp
When? Saturday, February 22nd (exact time TBD)
Where? Vida Fitness – U Street
Vida Boot Camp is a one-hour intense calorie burning program providing fun, creative, and challenging moves that keep participants focused, empowered, and constantly moving towards their fitness goals.
The workout includes a wide variety of constantly changing circuits including drills, games, obstacles, plyometrics, relays, weighted supersets, and partner training. Each class is based on interval training, constantly rotating from cardiovascular exercises to resistance training without rest to develop your maximum potential.
The class will be led by another one of our past clients & friends, Paul Duffy. Paul is a Personal Trainer and regularly holds classes at Vida Fitness on U Street. He believes in keeping workouts fun and results-driven to help restore balance and improve the overall quality of life of his clients.
Yoga Day
When? Saturday, March 7th (exact time TBD)
Where? Reformation Fitness – Shaw
